What is Brilliant coaching about?
A Brilliant Life Foundation (ABLF) goes into schools and other nonprofit organizations and works with middle school and high school students. As a Brilliant Coach, you would represent ABLF as you help students discover their:
- Purpose
- Gifts & Talents
- Dreams & Aspirations
- Viable Career Options
- Self-esteem and Confidence
- A Game Plan for Success
All curriculum and teaching materials are paid for and provided by ABLF.
When and where is Brilliant Coaching done?
Brilliant Coaching is done in your community. The hours are flexible to fit your schedule. ABLF programs are 9 weeks long, one hour a week. ABLF programs are taught in:
- After school programs, between 3 pm - 6 pm
- Saturday programs, between 8 am - 4 pm
- Various conferences and workshops, times and days vary
- During the school day, between 8 am - 3 pm
- Summer camps, M-T between 8 am - 5 pm
- Foster homes, times and days vary
To be a Brilliant Coach, you must commit to a full 9-week program. To earn more money, you can teach more than one ABLF class at a time, meaning you can teach 3 9-week programs simultaneously, yet at different times or days, and be compensated (3 X $450) $1,350 for the full 9-weeks.
Who supplies the materials?
All materials are paid for by ABLF. Most materials are given to you during training and at the beginning of each 9-week program you teach. At Coaches Training you will receive a Brilliant Box and a jump drive that house most of your teaching materials. You will also be given all workbooks for you and your students. Prep work is required most weeks before teaching. Prep work can be downloading reports, pulling materials out of your Brilliant Box or getting cupcakes and end of the program party supplies.
What are the qualifications for being a Brilliant Coach?
Ideal candidates are either:
- Education majors
- Social workers
- Psychology majors
- Counseling majors
Or have an interest in:
- Adolescent growth and development
- Mentoring youth
A Brilliant Coach must love working with youth, but also, they must be:
- Reliable
- Prompt
- Enthusiastic
- Dependable
- Organized & prepared
- Clean & well kept
A background check will be conducted on all applicants. A half-day training is mandatory for all staff.
Are Brilliant Coaches Compensated?
You earn $450 for each 9-week program completed. This compensation is based on 1-hour of teaching per week and all prep work done before each teaching session. Pay schedule is as follows: Week 2: $100 Week 5: $150 Week 9: $200. You are welcome to teach more than one class at a time, meaning you can teach 3 9-week programs simultaneously, yet at different times or days, and be compensated (3 X $450) or $1,350 for the full 9-weeks.
What is the required training?
Training is mandatory for all ABLF Brilliant Coaches. Training is a half-day session conducted in the ABLF Atlanta offices. You are compensated for your training time. Lunch is provided. If Brilliant Coaches want additional training they can shadow another Coach as that Coach teaches. This is extra training only if a Brilliant Coach desires to build more knowledge and confidence in teaching ABLF programs. There is no compensation for this extra training.
